MinyanMinder is operated by the MinyanMinder team. If you want your MinyanMinder account and the personal information attached to it deleted, email us and we will do it — no conditions, no retention offer.
Request account deletion[email protected] · A real person handles every request.
How to request deletion
-
Email [email protected] from the address on your account.
Sending from your own account's email address is how we confirm the request is really yours. If you no longer have access to that address, write from any address and say so — we'll verify with your community's Gabbai instead.
-
Put “Delete my account” in the subject line.
The button above fills this in for you. Include your full name and the name of your shul or minyan, so we delete the right account.
-
We confirm, then delete.
We reply within 3 business days to confirm we've received it, and complete the deletion within 30 days. You'll get a second email when it's done. Nothing is deleted until we've confirmed the request came from you.
There is no in-app delete button. Deletion is handled by email so that a request can be verified before a person's yahrzeits, attendance history and account are irreversibly removed.
What is deleted, and what is kept
Deleted permanently
- Your account and identity — name, email address, password credentials, phone number, gender marker, Hebrew name and father's Hebrew name, profile photo and avatar color.
- Your participation data — RSVPs, standing schedule, personal blackout dates, stated willingness to lein, lead davening or give a dvar torah, leining preferences and limits, personal attendance goals, and your role assignments.
- Your personal dates — Hebrew birthday, bar or bat mitzvah parsha, and every yahrzeit you entered, including the name of the person remembered, their parent's name, and your notes.
- Your device and notification data — push notification tokens for every device, and the record of which reminders were sent to you.
- Private notes about you — including any private Gabbai rating or note about a past assignment of yours.
- Your correspondence with us — support requests and in-app feedback you submitted.
Kept, in a form that no longer identifies you
- Shared conversation content — messages, polls, reactions, announcements and files you posted in a community's group conversations. Deleting one person's words out of other people's conversations would damage a shared record, so this content stays, detached from your name and account.
- Community attendance totals — the historical counts a minyan relies on to know whether it had a quorum on a given day. These are retained as anonymous numbers, not as your attendance.
Neither of these can be linked back to you once your account is deleted.
Additional retention periods
- Encrypted backups: up to 90 days. Our database backups are encrypted and overwritten on a rolling cycle. Your data disappears from them as that cycle completes, and backups are never used to restore a deleted account.
- Server logs: up to 30 days. Standard hosting logs (timestamps, IP addresses, error traces) age out automatically on our providers, Railway and Cloudflare.
- Proof of the deletion itself: kept indefinitely. A minimal record that an account was deleted, and when, so that we can demonstrate the request was honored. It contains no personal information about you.
If you don't want to delete everything
Just want to stop the reminders?
Ask your Gabbai to deactivate you, or turn notifications off in your Profile. Deactivating removes you from all RSVPs, reminders and assignments while leaving your account and the community's records intact — and it's reversible.
Want a copy of your information, or a correction?
Most of it you can view and edit yourself in the app, under Profile. For anything else — a copy of your data, or a correction you can't make yourself — email us at the same address and we'll take care of it.
