Common questions
How do I get an account?
MinyanMinder is set up one community at a time, so there's no public sign-up. Your shul's Gabbai either adds you directly or shares a join link or QR code. Once they do, you'll get an email with a link to set your password.
If you think you should have access and don't, ask your Gabbai first — they can see whether your account was created and re-send the invitation.
I'd like MinyanMinder for my minyan.
Email us and we'll walk you through setting up your community. We handle the initial setup with you directly rather than leaving you to configure it alone.
I can't sign in, or I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, choose Set or reset your password, enter your email, and we'll send you a link. Use the same address your Gabbai has on file — a different one won't match any account.
If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then email us.
I'm not getting notifications.
Three things to check, in order:
1. On your device, open Settings › Notifications › MinyanMinder and make sure Allow Notifications is on. If you declined the prompt when you first signed in, this is the only place to turn it back on.
2. In the app, open your Profile and check your notification preferences for the minyan you're expecting reminders from. Each minyan is configured separately.
3. Reminders are deliberately silent from candle lighting until the end of Shabbat and Yom Tov. If you were expecting something during that window, that's working as intended — it'll be waiting for you afterward.
I keep getting asked whether I'm coming, and the answer is always the same.
Set a standing schedule. In your Profile, tell MinyanMinder which services you normally attend and it will RSVP for you automatically. You can still override any individual day, and you can add personal blackout dates for a trip or a week you'll be away.
Something on the schedule is wrong — a time, a leining assignment, a cancellation.
Your Gabbai controls all of it, and they can fix it in seconds. Contact them rather than us. If they believe the app itself is behaving incorrectly, they have a direct line to us from inside their admin tools.
I'm a Gabbai and I need help configuring something.
Open your account menu and go to Help. You'll find guided tours of every admin screen, plus two ways to reach us: a quick informal question, or a tracked support ticket if something is genuinely broken and you need follow-up.
How do I delete my account?
Email us from the address on your account and we'll delete it, along with your personal information. Your Gabbai can also deactivate you immediately, which removes you from all RSVPs and reminders while keeping the community's historical attendance records intact.
See Delete your account for the exact steps, and what is deleted versus what is retained.
Does MinyanMinder work without the app?
Yes. Everything is available in a browser at minyanminder.org, and guests can RSVP to a single service through a link from your Gabbai without any account at all.
